A K-12 environmental STEM magnet pathway that includes Los Padillas Elementary, Mountain View Elementary, Polk Middle School, and Rio Grande High School
Program Objectives
- Reduce Hispanic group isolation at MSAP schools
- Ensure that all students attending the magnet schools meet challenging academic standards and are on track to be college-career-ready
- Provide high-quality professional development on curriculum development, instruction, SEL, and magnet them integration to teachers, school leaders, and staff at participating MSAP Schools. Build staff capacity to implement evidence- and research-based instruction
- To provide equitable access to challenging, quality, standards-aligned, inquiry-based, and environmental STEM instruction to all students at MSAP schools.
- Increase parental and community engagement in MSAP Schools.
Students will gain experience in:
Renewable energy technologies, environmental sustainability, agri-science, an innovative farming laboratory, engineering and design, scientific experimentation, and professional skills.
Our program utilizes:
Hands-on experiences, project-based learning, inquiry-based instruction, community partnerships, innovative technologies, curriculum from PLTW, and more!
